Germany - Magdeburg to Minden

This archway and bridge connecting two buildings symbolises the start of the rebuilding of the city of Magdeburg after the WW11 bombings that destroyed much of it. On January 16, 1945, a thousand tons of bombs fell on Magdeburg destroying 90% of the houses in the city center. It is hard to imagine how they came back from that.
